Down Lonely Avenue

When battles of reality between Journey and Malcolm takes them both on a long but silent drive down the cost to clear their heads. Stumbling across a small motel, Journey pulls in to call it a night. The couple is dealing with the distant connection from each other and we watch as Journey hold on to a toxic relationship, she tries to bare with all her obstacles that are attached with Malcolm by stepping into her happy place for answers. When Journey thinks she has the strength to get up and walk away she pulled back in by this imaginary leash called LOVE.

Director Biography - Dexx Broughton

Creative and visionary Director and Cinematographer based out of the San Francisco, California, who has created hundreds of high quality digital pieces from Short narratives, documentaries to music videos. Over his prolific 8-year career his content has grown in such an expeditious form.

Broughton, Director/Head of Production, helped develop some of the prime popular Bay Area visuals such as The Real I.E webisodes, Countless music videos throughout the Oakland, and San Francisco communities. This all being created under his upcoming production company Top Dynasty Media Group also known as TDMG Studios. With over 400 thousand views and 700 plus subscribers on YouTube, the thriving filmmaker created a path into short film creations. While freelancing with other fellow directors, and cinematographers in the Silicon Valley, Broughton prides himself on building relationships in the industry and working with new people.

As Broughton continues his career in filmmaking he stands tall on the belief " You can achieve all you desire as long as you have a vision", Broughton has written and directed three short film narratives and has been featured in 3 local bay area Film Festivals. Broughton says his love for film will always keep him motived to create an endless amount of content because he has a story to share and he wants the world to be his audience.

Director Statement

Down Lonely Avenue was created as a personal journal entry for me, writing to clear my mind, felt like writing out my troubles may help me get through them. While going through a rough patch in my engagement and felt at the time I was the only person that was struggling in this department of a relationship. I was at a place where I didn't understand my partner mentally, physically, emotionally and vice versa got to the point where we were perfect strangers living as roommates with kids.

While writing this script I stepped outside of myself and looked at the relationship from the eyes of my partner. As I started to write I felt a different understanding of this confusion and distance in my relationship. Down Lonely Avenue was a potential film project turned helping tool in my engagement. Insecurities, Trust issues, abandonment, and lack of commutation all a mixture for failure in any relationship.

I named the lead Actress Journey because when you building with another individual that is exactly what a healthy marriage/Partnership is, willing to embrace a journey, to discover new things in one another. Creating an expedition of a new way of love, a new way of viewing life. This film was created for the couples that feels they are alone in their struggles, for the couples who may feel they're just settling with someone. I give examples of strength and faith in not only yourself but in your relationship.
