Destiny Macon is screenwriter, director, and civil engineer who graduated from the University of South Carolina, the SC Film Commission’s Wide Angle Program, and UCLA’s screenwriting graduate program. In 2020, she launched Hush Girl Productions, LLC and won a ~$30,000 grant from the Indie Grants program to fund her short film, Talk Black, which was a finalist in ABFF's HBO short film showcase and is streaming on Max. The screenplay for Talk Black (the feature) was a winner in ScreenCraft’s 2023 comedy competition, was awarded the Sloan Writing Fellowship Award through the Athena Film Festival lab, and was selected to participate in the New York Stage and Film's filmmaker workshop. Her screenwriting how-to manual, Weird People Cool Concepts, is currently available as a paperback and a Kindle E-book on Amazon.com. She is developing several features & TV pilots and recently directed the surreal romance, Abysmal, a short film that is now making its way through the film festival circuit.
