Destiny Jackson is a queer, Black filmmaker, photographer, and videographer born in Washington, D.C. and currently based in Bowie, Maryland. Her main goal is to create, highlight, and produce stories that portray accurate and impactful representations of the Black, LGBTQIA+, and Gen-Z people. She is a graduating senior at Bowie State University majoring in Visual Communications and Digital Media Arts (VCDMA), with a concentration in Digital Cinema & Time-Based Media.
She first got her start in the arts during her younger years, always being the person that was constantly behind the camera, recording and documenting everything that her family and friends were up to. She was gifted a Canon T6 for Christmas during her freshman year of college and began to document her life using it to create short videos about her interest in pop culture, music, and lifestyle. Since then, she has gained a following under the moniker, 727 Artistry, where she showcases her different mediums of creativity.
She has helped on multiple film productions, working as a BTS photographer and Production Assistant. Alongside that, she has completed multiple internships in the sports media industry, occupying roles such as Creative Producer at NFL Films and Videographer at the Washington Commanders. She has also collaborated with Adobe Gen Create for a campaign highlighting student creators documenting their everyday life.
