Desolate Remnants
Following the events of a nuclear winter, four young teens leave their enclave for survival. When one dies mysteriously, the protagonist faces grief and confusion. Determined, they head for an old communication beacon, unaware that a hidden truth about the death may soon emerge which will ultimately alter their journey.
Desolate Remnants takes place following the outburst of a horrible nuclear accident/war. This has resultantly turned the world into a permanent state of winter, known as a nuclear winter. This makes the world extremely cold with high levels of radiation and widespread destruction. Food and other essential resources have also become scarce triggering a massive death toll from starvation, exposure and diseases. The story picks up with 4 characters, our protagonist, 2 supporting characters, and our protagonist's dying brother. The four of them have left behind their small civilisation in hope of finding a more resourceful one which will be vital for the survival of each and everyone of them. However one morning the protagonist's brother is found dead floating down the river leaving the main character shattered and in a state of grief, and confusion. From here it's up to the main protagonist to overcome his grief and continue on their journey to a better civilisation. They realise that there is an old communication beacon nearby and decide its best to go there and try their luck with that. However on the way a certain secret about the death of the brother may be unveiled.
