In the context of internet of the things, algorithm, cyborgism, post-Anthropocene, bio-art and robotics, Wei Chia Wu is developing her stories based on the thinking of contemporary society and the current social disclosure, discussing internet capitalism/gender/information/channels/globalization-localization content. Her works are mainly created with 3d softwares, coding and open framework algorithm to present a high saturation utopia, where we often see flexibility between subtle culture symbols and stories, collage of digital/offline visual and auditory pieces.
She has been working as an independent multimedia artist since graduated from Goldsmiths College. Her practice focuses on the audiovisual experiences, the interrelationships between visual, narratives, sonic landscape, performance and explores the possibilities of the animated medium.
She has shown her works at galleries (Non Berlin, Shelter Gallery, Homesession, Long March Gallery), music festivals (MONA FOMA, Sonar, Le Guess Who, Sydney Festival, Concrete Grass Festival) and public art venues. Her work has been featured in the RedBull Music Academy, VICE, Uncanny, MAEKAN and Boiler Room.
