Zofia Lipecka, depth of surface

Depth of surface is a portrait of Zofia Lipecka, an artist born in Poland and working in France. Her works have an aesthetic, philosophical and anthropological quality. They address the problems of the contemporary world and history (ecology, war, the Holocaust). The documentary, devoted to the paintings in Lipecka's oeuvre, shows the artist at work in the solitude of her studio. These images, which form the film's thread, are accompanied by commentary from art world figures and the artist herself, as well as presentations of the works.

This documentary pays tribute to a women-painter whose art confronts us with the ethical questions. With her paintings, she emphasizes the importance of ethics in human life since the times when he lived in caves.
