Dengbej Project

The "Dengbêj Project" is a documentary and musical film in kurdish with english subtitles about the old Dengbêj and their songs. It is a cultural documentary to prevent and honor the kurdish Dengbêj.
The aim of this project is to revitalize the artistic skills and to understand the intention of the ancient Dengbêj.
The concept of „Dengbêj Projects“ contents the filming of the Dengbêjs artists, in this case Delil Dilanar.
In this short documentary film, Delil sings three different kind of Dengbêj songs. Also he tells the story behind these songs. The documentary speaker, Leyla Bali who lives in Russia, is telling about Delils career as a singer. During his friends are talking more about Delils private life and his personality.

The Songs, which Delil is singing, are directly recorded in front of the camera. The musicians are playing live instruments, like Drums, Bilur (Kurdish flute), Duduk, Guitar. They were filmed live in front of the camera, while the audio is recorded separately.
The songs and musical parts in this documentary are accompanied by post- music production. Different compositions were written by Renas Miran, therefore every song and every musical part gets its own unique feeling.
This mix of new audio material characterizes this project.
