The beginning of the 20th century... A photographer and entrepreneur Richard
Shtremer arrives in Minsk. The purpose of his visit to the city was none other than
the opening of the first movie theater! Shtremer begins a long search for suitable
premises, bargaining to reduce the rent. And... after some time, the movie theater,
named "Illusion", finally opens! The day X arrives, when the film screening, for
which Shtremer had been preparing for so long and carefully, was to take place.
But all plans are ruined by a fire that suddenly started in the movie theater. A
woman, the governor's wife, remains in the fire. Shtremer immediately saves the
woman and... falls in love with her. These events launch a new round in the life

story of Richard Shtremer and the governor's wife, as well as the development of
Belarusian cinema distribution. In the future, the young people will shoot a film,
have their first success, fame, and fans. And also, as often happens,
misunderstanding from loved ones, quarrels, life questions that require immediate
answers and... a duel.
With the beginning of the First World War, the further fate of Richard Stremer is
lost in the whirlpool of historical events. And his films, like those of many other
inventors of cinema, are lost.
