Jerry Janvier and his family migrated from Saint Marc, Haiti to the United States seeking a better life only to find similar strains of political upset, poverty, social disparity, and racial inequality in America. Unsurprisingly, Janvier found solace watching movies. Movies served as an outlet, an escape, and subsequently as inspiration to create films of his own. Jerry Janvier immersed himself in the study of film while attending Hunter College, and there he attained his B.A in Filmmaking. After college, Jerry began writing, producing, and directing small projects while working at Vice Media for their highly acclaimed HBO Nightly Show. Ultimately, Jerry Janvier’s purpose is to connect with all people in their various states of vulnerability through film and provide them with the escape he once had.
Does revenge equate to justice? The focal point of 'Delivered' is that we all suffer from some form of trauma, whether it is directly or indirectly. How one chooses to identify with traumatic experiences may ultimately determine their fate. ‘Delivered’ aims to highlight the human response to suffering in order to spark conversations around mass shootings and healing within our communities. By sharing this film, we can all hopefully benefit from learning to forgive ourselves and others.
