Defending Wirikuta, a Dialogue with the Fire

The Wixrarika People is indigenous tribe, living in northern part of Mexico.
Every year, this tribe, pilgrims to there holy places to take offerings to there spirits and gods. One of the main spots, is Wirikuta, the place where life was born, located in the State of San Luis Potosi, Mexico.
This natural protected area of Wirikuta, is threatened by several international mining companies. The Wixrarika People are forced to raise there voices and fight for there holy land.
In 2019, a delegation of the Wixrarika People, had the chance to speak in front of the United Nations.

Chris Santiago is a director, creative producer and filmmaker. ​
Over the last ten years, Chris has gained wide experience as a director, creative producer, editor and production manager in the fields feature film, advertising, corporate and documentary.
Based in Zurich and Berlin, Chris can provide a strong network in the international film and artists scene and works together with creatives from Germany, Spain, Denmark, Netherlands, Switzerland, UK, Italy, etc. to create his work.
