Director Biography - David Jonas Frei

In 2017 he studied at the film school 'Filmarche Berlin'. During this time he realized the short film 7 Liars (Deep Valley) 2019 and realized a TV show "Panoptikum" and the Movie "Bad Heroes"
Born in Basel in 1985, he started at the Theater Basel at the age of 17, which led him to the Salzburg Festival in 2004.
He then studied acting for 4 years at the Michael Chekhov School in Berlin.
After successfully graduating, 2 years followed at the Theater Koblenz. The roles were mostly youthful, tragic heroes such as Dorian Gray (Wilde), Ferdinand (Schiller), Lysander (Shakespeare) and many more.
Afterwards they went on to Vienna to perform two plays. In the Viennese 'Shakespeare in the Park' ensemble he played Don Pedro in "Much Ado about Nothing".
After successful completion of the tour time he returned to Berlin. This was followed by appearances on television including ZDF, ARD and Sat 1, mostly in thrillers but also other formats.
"Bad Heroes, or a llama named Beethoven" is his feature film debut in 2021.
2020 He moderated the awards of the film festival of 'Achtung Berlin' for the third time.
In 2019/2018 he moderated at the Berlinale.
