LaQuita James is a Tennessee native and currently resides in Nashville. She is a certified Speech-Language Pathologist by trade. She has filmed 10 feature films, 5 television and web shows, 6 commercials, and has appeared in over 30 theatre productions and musicals as well as 3 music videos. She appeared in the feature film Redemption as Betty and the feature film Worm as Teri Dasari which premiered at the Nashville Film Festival. She was featured in the Pistol Annies video Hush Hush. She also appeared in feature film Providence and in The Good Book as the Receptionist. She appeared in the supporting role of Nurse White in the feature film Regen.
She was nominated for best supporting actress in the 54 hour film festival Murfreesboro for her role as the Police Chief in Black Widow. A recent appearance was on the stage at Dark Horse Theatre as LaSonia in The Trials & Tribulations of a Trailer Trash Housewife by Del Shores in which she won a Broadway award for best featured actress in 2016. She also recently filmed the short film Circumvent which won 3 awards including best ensemble cast in the 48 hour film festival. She co-starred on Nashville, Still The King, and Hap & Leonard. She is also a writer, lead actress, and producer for Three's A Pain. She is represented by The Avenue Agency Model & Talent and The McCray Agency.
This is my first time directing and I am so proud of this project. I love my city of Nashville and hot chicken. I hope you enjoy this film as much as I do.
