Dear my red dot

Amidst the continuous stream of advertisements on television and the incessant buzzing of notifications on her phone, the protagonist Im Gyu-jin clings to a chimpanzee doll, ignoring everything else. Having recently bid farewell to her beloved son Min-woo, she finds herself trapped in despair, unable to escape the clutches of the past.

Then, an experiment advertisement promises to help individuals like Gyu-jin break free from their lingering attachments through a robot resembling their lost loved ones. Intrigued, Gyu-jin promptly applies for the experiment.

Gyu-jin's story, perfectly suited for the experiment's purpose, is immediately selected. She dreams of a perfect fresh start after letting go of her past, including Min-woo, and spending time with a robot that mimics her son.

However, contrary to the experiment's intentions, Gyu-jin begins to grow attached to the Min-woo robot, finding solace in its presence.

One day, while discussing memories of Min-woo with Min-woo's father over the phone, Gyu-jin abruptly cuts the call in anger at his advice to "let go." That night, she dreams of the sudden shutdown of the Min-woo robot.

Upon waking from the dream, Gyu-jin grasps the Min-woo robot, pleading, "Don't leave, let's be together forever, Mom and son." However, she receives a strange response from the Min-woo robot, asking, "How much longer do I need to stay for you to forget Min-woo?"

Soon after, Gyu-jin firmly returns the Min-woo robot, and upon reflection, she redefines the meaning of letting go, finally understanding its true significance.
