I started out in the “industry” by playing in bands on Beale Street and the areas surrounding Memphis. Like most kids, I felt the need to go to college but I quickly found out that I didn't want to go to school for music and that I'd rather attend film school. I had always loved music but I didn't want to be a band director or end up sweeping floors in a studio...little did I know, that's also a job in the film industry...
I attended Full Sail University and found my love for film. I loved movies and the process of making them really fascinated me. I have always been into tinkering with things and trying to figure out how they work. That's the way the film industry is. The puzzle of it all is what keeps me coming back.
After film school, I worked in and around the Orlando area for a year or so and then returned to Memphis. Back in the safety of familiar surroundings, I started making connections and honing my skills.
I've opened and closed a couple of production companies and had business partners and lost business partners. I've bought mountains of equipment and devoted countless hours to editing and re-editing. Being in this industry is all about evolving and learning Every time you walk on set, you learn something new. Every single time.
I've been a working professional for almost 20 years and I feel like I'm finally to the point where I can actually create quality, entertaining content. It's kind of like riding a bike. You fall off; you get back on. Just keep peddling and you'll get there, and you might learn how to do a few tricks along the way.
