Dear Jacob

Herrera brothers, Jacob and Dylan have a stronger bond than most twins because Jacob has a moderate hearing impairment. He has sensorineural hearing loss and needs a hearing aid. Even with this disability, Jacob wants to learn how to drive. Dylan teaches him throughout the beginning of their senior year of high school. On the night of Homecoming, Jacob gets in an accident that leaves Dylan dead.

Director Statement

I had to take care of my brother differently than others because he had a hard time socializing and speaking. He was on the Autism spectrum. I wanted to share my experience with others to make the audience appreciate their relationship with their siblings and not argue with them or hold grudges.
