Dear Dimi
Janni's (Camillo Guthmann) father took his life a couple of years ago. He lies about it to his little sister Laura (Romy Amberg) who then, like him, became an orphan. Years later he is struggling to provide for the both of them while raising Laura in their run-down family home. After his facade breaks, because of a corpse in the forrest, he must confront his repressed memories all the while trying to find an answer to Laura's increasing questions.

Ignatios or "Igi" grew up in two different countries, namely Germany and Greece, which always left him preoccupied about identity and affiliation. He lived out his formative years in the midst of the Greek economic crisis during which he decided to return to Germany to study. After High School he started out as a surgeon's assistant for two years, but soon enough his creative side won him over and he went to film school.
During his time at the "SAE Institute" he helped out his fellow students with their shorts for exam purposes, before receiving his first directorial credit with his Diploma movie "Dear Dimi".
"Dear Dimi" speaks to people with incomplete families. Whether it's a loved one who died or a parent that was never met, they leave a feeling of unfullfillness to the ones affected who often live a live full of negativity. The movie proposes to deal with the deceased and accept their departure, so you can contrate on the living. This rather eastern inspired philosophy about grief presents a more positive alternative than "hushing the deceased to death".
