Dear Diary
The short film explores art as a form of revolution that does not succumb to despair, anger, or nihilism but, instead of directly responding to social and political crises, returns to its primary aesthetic and expressive function. In contrast to art that highlights dystopian reality, the author seeks a different kind of resistance—one that does not fear beauty, joy, sensuality, and love. It focuses on emotions, memories, and fantasies, which are ultimately essential for survival. We can only remain strong if we resist a system that oppresses us and tries to take away everything we hold dear. One form of resistance is art that expresses playfulness, carefreeness, pleasure, sensuality, and love, refusing to be forced into despair.
