Director Statement

Maybe many people know batik as one of the cultural heritage of Indonesia but they do not know how batik is made and who are the makers. So I chose to direct this film so that the audience knew how a batik was made. But this film is a little different from the first script when I came to rumah batik palbatu (one of the batik houses that became the place of making batik) because it turns out there are many disabled fighters who try to live by becoming a batik maker. From here I also met Farida, who I found her life story really interesting. In her growing age, she found it very difficult to get a proper job. Not only that, I met Mr. Harry, who helped many disabled friends. As a founder, he is not only looking to profit from selling batik, but he shares knowledge, experience and happiness to others. I want the audience to feel the spirit of Farida and the batik makers there. So, they can draw the conclusion that batik is not just a fabric, but a person's life is highly dependent on this craft. I also hope that all Indonesian people love the original products made in the country and continue to preserve them.
