Dead Memory speaks of oblivion, memory, and identity. It refers to the extermination of the Selk-nam people, but also to the loss of identity and the forgetting of one's roots as a migrant. The images pass by while Lola Kiepjka's Song to the Wind, the last Selk-nam shaman, plays in a loop

Director Biography - Jose Pablo Moreno Gomez

Nací y creci en Chile, a los 21 años migré a España para poder estudiar en la universidad. Trabajé de muchas cosas para poder costear mi vida e intenté estudiar economía y antropología. No acabé ninguna de las dos. Finalmente acabé en Valencia estudiando un técnico en imagen, que me ha llevado, poco a poco, a intentar expresar mediante la fotografia y el video las experiencias y sentimientos en estos años bastantes difíciles, años de transicion y autoconocimiento.

I was born and raised in Chile, at the age of 21 I migrated to Spain to be able to study at university. I worked in many things to be able to afford my life and I tried to study economics and anthropology. I didn't finish either of them. Finally I ended up in Valencia studying an image technician, which has led me, little by little, to try to express through photography and video the experiences and feelings in these difficult years, years of transition and self-knowledge.
