Daniel Munoz pursues a career in film and is studying at Our Lady of the Lake University to obtain a degree in Mass Communications: Film Production. He has been studying Film for more than four years and has refined his skills throughout his education. Daniels access to education in film has led him to opportunities in film through film competitions.
Daniel has worked on multiple sets as a Director and as a Director of Photography. Daniels past experiences on multiple sets include three two-day competitions namely Skills USA and El Paso 2-day movie challenge. Other sets were personal projects and reel projects for friends. He was also 2nd editor of the online school news and entertainment show Empire Experience, and producer of a show on the same program Conspiracy Corner. He was also camera operator at the Student Activities Complex on 2nd camera.
Accomplishments of Daniel include his two second place awards in the annual Skills USA Competitions in Cinema. Daniel during his studies would volunteer to operate at the Student Activities Complex during his junior and senior years.
As of 2019 Daniel Munoz due to his passion of Film and the visual arts, is working closely with SGC at Our Lady of the Lake University to bring to life a local film club to operate as a hub, society, and resource for other film makers in Texas.
Daniel J. Munoz was heavily inspired by movies like Taxi Driver, Drive, Fight Club, Fractured, and recently Joker when writing Dead Poet. There’s no doubt that movies like these spread controversy over specific topics like mental health, drug abuse, and firearms which end up in news, media, and headlines. If done right its possible to remove the glamour and glorification of these topics and instead prompt them as situations and ideas that need advocacy.
