Dead Dogs Still Fetch

Peter, a young man living a self-destructive and lonely life, receives a devastating breakup text from his girlfriend, Stacey. Struggling with overwhelming feelings of loneliness and despair, Peter finds solace in the memory of his childhood dog, with whom he shared a deep bond. Motivated by a flicker of hope, he seeks a new companion and adopts Kona, a labradoodle with a mysterious past.

Peter's life takes an unexpected turn when he learns that Kona was previously owned by a cult obsessed with resurrecting the dead. Despite his concerns, Peter promises to take care of Kona. A montage ensues, showcasing their growing bond and joyous moments together. However, tragedy strikes when a speeding car tragically kills Kona while they play fetch.

Devastated by the loss of his beloved companion, Peter spirals into a deep depression. He begins to experience strange occurrences, including the sound of whimpering and scratching at his door. When he investigates, he finds Kona's favourite ball outside. As Peter's mental state deteriorates, he enters a manic episode, leading him to the dog park, where he discovers a crude arrangement of sticks spelling "I MISS U”

Back in his house, Peter turns on the news and learns that the man responsible for Kona's death has mysteriously disappeared. Overwhelmed with anxiety, Peter witnesses blood leading downstairs and discovers Brent's grotesque corpse, seemingly dragged in by a vengeful spirit. Shocked and horrified, Peter is driven to the brink of madness.

As sirens wail in the distance, Peter is haunted by the sound of Kona barking. The film ends in a chilling scene, with Peter lying in a pool of his own vomit, surrounded by death, and the haunting barks of his once beloved companion.
