Yang Liu, a young dance artist and interdisciplinary artist, graduated from The Central Academy of Drama and Beijing Film Academy. She further studied at Beijing Dance Academy and was awarded the ballet performing talent training by China National Arts Fund, and she traveled to France, UK, Netherlands, and Austria to study contemporary dance.Her works have been exhibited and performed in China Contemporary Dance Biennial, Wuzhen Theatre Festival, Guangdong Dance Festival, Beijing Dance Festival, Nanluoguxiang Theatre Festival, and A4 Art Museum, etc. She has performed in the Centre Pompidou of West Bund Museum and Power Station of Art. She focuses on the connection and interaction between body and visual, new media, and technology, not limited to Theatre Arts, Image Art, Digital Media Art,and Installation Art, and presents an gesamtkunstwerk form.
Her choreography Two Fish was selected for the 7th Nanluoguxiang Theatre Festival, toured to the 14th Guangdong Dance Festival, was selected for the 1st China Contemporary Dance Biennial, and was awarded the star recommended play in the Ancient Town Carnival of 3rd Wuzhen Theatre Festival. "Floating Blood" and "Kiss the Memory" were presented at Beijing Dance Festival.
Her dance video works include "Why You Are Here" (National Young Dancers Development Plan of China Dancers Association), "Grill the Cyborg" (A4 Art Museum), and "De Stijl ", etc.
