Director Biography - Rob Hoovis

Rob Hoovis is an accomplished photographer & film maker located in Fort Myers Florida. This family man & father of two owns a photo/video production company called Old Sparky Productions. In the early 2000s directed & produced a number of action sports videos about skateboarding, notably *FM2 which was awarded 'Underground Video of the Year' by Thrasher Magazine in 2002. He spent time as the Lee County Resident artist in 2016, has an Instagram following of over 30,000 people & his photos have appeared in a variety of magazines. Although he earns a living doing client based photo/video work - his his true passion is film making & photography centered on the night sky. He was nominated by Milky Way Chasers, the largest community of night sky photographers in the world in 2018 as 'Best Milky Way Photographer - Male' & 'Best Lightning Photographer'. He spends much of his free time shooting aerial & timelapse video as well as a variety of landscape photos in remote parts of SW Florida.
