Alyssa Park grew up as a competition dancer in her hometown of Monroe, WA. She studied Contemporary, Jazz, Ballet, Hip Hop, and Tap. By the age of 10, Alyssa taught herself how to work with a camera and an editing software to create videos of herself dancing. In the Fall of 2017, Alyssa moved to Los Angeles, CA to further her dance career at AMDA College and Conservatory of the Performing Arts. After 3 semesters, Alyssa transferred to The Los Angeles Film School to pursue her love for being behind the camera. Since then, Alyssa’s creative work includes digital content for Geometry Dance Company, Soul de Soul Dance Convention, Taylor Dayne, D-Trix, AMDA College and Conservatory of the Arts, Rhythmic Souls Tap Company, and Dupree Dance Convention. Alyssa currently resides in the Pacific Northwest where she continues to combine her love for movement, camera-work, and travel and hopes to help others do the same in the future.
As a young filmmaker, I am humbled and in awe of every opportunity, we have to see the world in a new way. This film marks my first (of hopefully many) narrative works while providing an outlet for me to showcase my own personal journey. The actors in this piece showed me what it was like to truly let your inner child shine. We had limited resources but all in all, we made a beautiful piece that my small crew of four is very proud of. Hopefully, this inspires you to howl into the endless abyss while frolicking in the woods.
