Director Statement

We go down these roads, leaving the amber glow of street lights. There’s a certain fear that follows, a shadow of the unknown, a lonely feeling that nags at your heart. But it’s necessary for change.

I didn’t expect what this year would bring, and I guess no one did. But despite the sense of isolation, that chill of feeling alone, we will pull through, and stand together as one someday.

Maybe this is what we needed all along? A chance to see ourselves, and all the work we have yet to do. A chance to step away from the familiar amber glow and into the night, scrambling for something new. A chance to seek a beginning where, through the creativity and imagination to envision a better world— a place where we can come together as one people, celebrating our differences, connected through our humanity.

These roads we walk stretch deep into the night. This year has shown that the world is in need of great change. That fading sun provides little light to guide us to this new future. But, if we hold on to those rays of sunlight, we can ride the storm of night, working together to bring a new tomorrow, a better tomorrow. Are you ready for daybreak?
