People's Choice Award
Aida Yavbatyrova was born and raised in the city of Makhachkala (Dagestan). In 2017 she graduated from St. Petersburg State University with a degree in TV and radio journalism. In 2019, he completed a master's degree at St. Petersburg State University as a documentary filmmaker. As a dissertation project she presented the film "Daughters", which is Aida's debut as a director. At the moment he is working as a producer at a St. Petersburg TV company.
In early 2020, she released a social video "The Art of Growing", dedicated to the problem of harassment and manifestations of sexism. The work became the winner of the All-Russian competition of social films "You are not alone" (St. Petersburg). She also released the second part of the "Daughters" project, dedicated to the problem of sexism and women's rights in the Caucasus, Tibet and Denmark.
