Film Photography Award
Asimenia Galani was born in Athens, Greece in 2000 from a Greek father and a Cypriot mother, and was raised in Piraeus, Greece. After having participated at the Laboratories of National Theater of Greece for four years, at the age of eighteen, she transferred to Italy to study Scenography at the Academy of Fine Arts Pietro Vannucci in Perugia.
In 2016 she created the short film «Darkness Sets at Dawn» which in 2017 won the award of Best Film Photography at the 1st Short Film Festival of Art School of Gerakas. After that she continued by creating in 2017 the Video-Art Installation «The meaning of my Life», in 2018 the Video-Art «Ears», in 2019 the short film «Don Giovanni» and in 2020 the Video-Art/Experimental Movie «Knitting Time», which gave her an Official Selection at the IV Round of MiraBanART Showcase 2019/2020 as Quarterly FINALIST, and also in 2020 the Short Film «Ricoςtruzionε», which was selected to participate at the 11th International Short Film Festival of Cyprus. In 2021 she created the Video-Art Installation "Letters to the Unknown" and the Short-Film/Video-Performance "Happy Days Inverse" which is part of her thesis. With that last film she participated at the exhibition of the PNA XV (Premio Nazionale delle Arti) that took place in Sassari, Sardegna.
