"Dark End?"

A woman who on a faithful morning, is fired from a job she held for over ten years. She is not prepared for the changes. Her life becomes spiraling when she moves in with a landlord that's dealing with his own demon and making every minute impossible for her.
We see her as a broken woman. She is sad, angry, withdrawn, but she still has her heart, mind and spirit. She gives in, she gives up. She doesn't share her pain. But she is resilient and will make this awful experience as the main fuel to achieve her goal. Or will she?

Director Biography - Marguerite Louissaint

Marguerite Louissaint is a filmmaker based in Manhattan, New York. She first began a career in film financing with a MBA in Global management, finance and economics. Marguerite switched to filmmaking after working as a production consultant, production manager on several short films and theater plays. She graduated to producing the 2012 feature documentary about "We the People" the life of the residents in Haverstraw, NY. She proceeded on directing and producing three more short film projects during the summer of 2016 for a local production company. This short film “Dark End?” is her directorial debut which has been screened at two film festivals. Marguerite enjoys writing and making films. Her goal is to produce and direct the feature length film for “Dark End?” and also work for a major production company.

Director Statement

I was inspired to write the story while my friend was going thru some financial hardship. I then chose to direct the film because during the pre-production phase, I was experiencing with some life altering tribulations. Needless to say life does imitate art or vice versa. Enduring and coping with so much extreme emotional pain helped me create the best art in telling the story.
Working with my talents was special. We know each other well since we had worked on other film and theater projects before. My crew was few, but fun to work with. Everyone brought in their talent and dedication into producing the project at our best. It's worth mentioning that we also had our challenges with some location issues and two interns not showing up, but the one that showed was awesome. She was smart and knew what she was doing. The experience that I gained on this film will definitely help me with future projects as a director as well as writer and a producer.
