Despina Markaki is a 28-year-old animator and visual artist. She finds joy in blending and experimenting with various mediums to create something truly original and authentic. Through her creative vision, she invites others to explore the uncharted territories of their most inner thoughts and fears. She was born and raised in Greece and now lives in London.

Director Statement

"Danse" is a deeply personal exploration of the complexities of passion, where joy and obsession intertwine in a surreal, visually vibrant narrative. Through non-linear storytelling and dream-like imagery, it reflects the bittersweet struggle of finding solace in something that both heals and consumes.

This film was created using a series of photographs capturing colorful lights and their reflections on water droplets.
