I was born in Maryland, I then grew up in Sicily where I studied Philosophy, History, Grammar, and Literature. There I also won various regional dance sport competitions (Ballroom and Choreo) and became a published, award-winning poet with "La Balena di Ghiaccio". I was a self-taught artist until I moved back to the States in 2016, where I enrolled as an animation student in California. I choose the visual arts as my career because I see the power of media, how much it can teach people about cultures and situations different than their own. I want to be a part of that change in media and animation.
I’ve been a ballroom dancer for years, and it was an amazing experience! However, I could see all the negatives this amazing sport can bring to anyone who doesn’t fit a specific category: white, cis, straight, able-bodied and neurotypical… so with this little sweet story I wanted to help shift the perception and making it more accessible.
