Born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Dan Val Cardo experienced chaos in paradise before moving to Germany at 18. Dan completed his Bachelor's degree in Dance at the Folkwang University of the Arts, previously directed by Pina Bausch. During his studies, he founded the dance-theater company Samadhyana, where his first contact with filmmaking was sparked. Over the last ten years, Dan has produced stage pieces, dance films, short films, concerts, and festivals. He has worked for theaters such as Aalto Theater, Bonn Theater, and the Musiktheater im Revier, and is currently writing a German stage production and a Feature film in English.
