The son of Bangladeshi immigrants, born on January 14, 2002, in Windsor, Ontario, Daiem Mohammad is a filmmaker and art critic.
He was raised in Regent Park, Toronto, Canada's oldest, and at one point, largest housing project. This background instilled in him a strong sense of community, which followed him for his entire life.
He attended and, in 2020 graduated from Jarvis Collegiate Institute, throughout his tenure, he attended numerous community programs.
In the fall of 2019, he was a program instructor for Yonge Street Mission's video editing class.
In 2020, he acted as Youth Editor for In:Cite Journal, a student-run academic magazine based out of the University of Toronto
In 2021 and 2022, he was a Community Media Journalist for the Focus Media Arts Centre. This not-for-profit media organization aimed to introduce inner-city youth to the world of media creation.
From the fall of 2022 to the summer of 2024, he attended Toronto Film School's Film Production program.
In the Spring of 2023, his debut short film "Irrevocable" was selected as an honorable mention at the Student World Impact Film Festival.
In the fall of 2024, he began working as an Emergency Replacement Person with the TDSB, providing on-call assistance to numerous public schools in downtown Toronto.
