Da Dawn Affect

Da Dawn Affect is a visual representation of the realness of a personal dream. It is a combination of the independent film 'Snow on the Bluff' fused with the motion picture 'The Wizard of Oz', showing what society could look like when the dream world and real world collide. The cause may start the problem but the AFFECT will be the solution. Only a select few are able to see it...can you?

Director Statement

This film will always be "my baby"; it is special to me because I filmed and edited majority of this film while being homeless and sleeping in a hostel in Philadelphia. With basically no budget, I was able to get this project created. As I encountered people from all around the world at the hostel, I began to have this dream similar to MLK's (Martin Luther King Jr.) dream of a world with less hate and more love and peace. I want viewers to see this film as a visual representation of what modern society could be like if my dream was reality. I kept the raw and gritty nature to the film so that viewers can see the realistic nature of the main character, Feight's (Member 1) struggles. Feight (Member 1), struggles with grief, depression, and deciphering whether or not what he is experiencing is a dream or reality. My experience with homelessness and being at the hostel will always be one of the most memorable moments in my life. Even while dealing with depression, the community made me feel connected, it's where I felt loved and a sense of family I hadn't experienced before then. The actors and actresses did an amazing job improvising and conveying the ultimate message of the film: appreciation...and for that I will always be appreciative.
