A third of our lives is lost in sleep. Whether understood as a form of foreknowledge, a portal to a metaphysical plane, or a domain of psychological desublimation, dreams have rightly been the subject of spiritual speculation, scientific research, and artistic endeavor. Giving dreams their pride of place among human obsessions, SECRETS of the Deep: DREAMS ON FILM seeks 5 to 10 minute films about dreaming, featuring dreams, or films that are dream-like.

As with previous festivals – Secrets of the Insect World, Secrets of the Heart, and Secrets of the Intoxicated Life - SECRETS of the Deep: DREAMS ON FILM will select only ten films for a screening at the historic Gene Frankel Theatre in downtown New York City. The screening will occur in early 2018 (January or February).
