Carlotta is an Italian director based in London.
After a BA at the Academy of Fine Arts in Turin, she moved to London in 2016 for a MA in Directing at MET Film School, where she's now working in the industry and writing on Cinegirl magazine.
DOG DAYS is a short story of female power and independence.
I’ve written it as a little love letter to myself as a kid and as a poem to the confusion and allure of teenage summers.
I would like to tell that little insecure girl that everything is fine, the dog days will pass and to hell with other people’s judgment.
We all deserve a fresh and carefree dip into the water, without a thought about how we look, who we are supposed to be or what others might think of us.
The film explores a delicate time when our bodies start changing, when we start figuring out our sexuality, when we can feel very adult and very young at the same time.
I wish many teenagers will watch the film and be inspired by Adele’s courage of breaking away from the norm and the peer pressure. I hope they will jump with her towards a kinder and prouder future.
