DFW Hype
The protagonists are three, urban women: Charmaine (a Black American); Ferrah (a Black non-American, likely Nigerian; Sofi (a non-Black American). They are resourceful, confident women who exude agency but have conflicting vices that jeopardize their relationships with each other and a prestigious, powerful, and perilous client.
The overarching themes are virtue & values with thematic elements including sameness & otherness within The {Black} Culture, police brutality, mental health, sex trafficking, tragedy, triumph, and sisterhood.
Sofi owns Covet, an upscale, state-of-the-art, loft - in Addison, TX - multi-purposed as a performance studio and meeting space with a chicly outfitted, unisex lounge and kitchenette. She is a formally trained, renowned dancer who retired after traveling the world as a backup dancer for the likes of The Marley family, Usher, Shakira, etc. She is the Maverick Cheerleaders' consultant and owns an escort service catering to the elite (i.e. dignitaries, Hollywood executives, NBA/NFL/MLB/NHL executives, bankers, or other referred clients that have successfully passed her background investigation).
Charmaine is an affluent wife and mom. She and her husband of nearly 20 years have a tween daughter, a diverse investment portfolio, and are the pillars of their families. She is a Tai Chi Gold Dragon who has dedicated her life to imbuing girls with confidence, self-awareness, and a sense of their personal power through Tai Chi, which she teaches at Covet. She is an Oakland transplant rooted in Dallas and houses deeply unresolved issues and a dark secret.
Ferrah is an accountant by day and holistic, yogi and quintessential tree-hugger by night. She is in a long-term relationship and dangerously in love with the owner of a Harley Davidson dealership. She teaches yoga classes and curates her podcast at Covet. As the youngest of the trio, she fully embodies little sister vibes.

As an actor in Hollywood, I found myself yearning to create content that truly inspired me. After sharing some of my writing with my coach and performing it, I was encouraged to take writing classes. Over time, my excitement and momentum as a writer grew, leading me to be accepted into the Writing & Consciousness program at the California Institute of Integral Studies.
This journey not only helped me develop my craft but also inspired me to write a book aimed at empowering disenfranchised women of color. Marketing has always been a challenge for me, but since relocating to Dallas and joining the DFW Writers Workshop, I’m actively learning how to land an agent, which is my current goal.
I’m particularly fascinated by how storytelling can empower communities, especially in TV and film. As a family-oriented person, I cherish the nostalgia of movie outings, drive-ins in pajamas, and cozy nights in with loved ones. I value the conversations sparked by an inspiring play, show, or film.
My vision is to grow as a writer and director, using storytelling to instill values and virtues that foster consciousness in the community while bringing people together through entertainment.
