Short Screenplay
Drama/Teen/Coming of age

LOGLINE: Five middle school students from rival social circles expect a miserable Saturday detention - until their unconventional teacher turns it into a day of wild games, creativity, and reckless fun. But when a life-threatening emergency strikes, they must put their differences aside, proving that real connection and adventure exist far beyond their phone screens and tablets.

STORY SUMMARY: Five middle school students from vastly different cliques arrive at Saturday detention dreading a day without their phones. But instead of punishment, they get an unexpected twist when Mr. Reynolds, a grizzled yet free-spirited history teacher, believes in breaking the rules of detention.

From hallway drift trike races and human bowling to explosive science experiments, theatrical auditions, and an intense outdoor soccer match, the students rediscover something long forgotten - how to truly live in the moment. Laughter replaces judgment, competition turns into camaraderie, and real bonds begin to form.

Just as the day reaches its peak, Mr. Reynolds suffers a severe allergic reaction, forcing the students to step up and take action. Their quick thinking saves his life, proving that teamwork and real-world problem-solving matter more than any social media trend. The following Saturday, detention is no longer a punishment - it’s the most sought-after experience in school, drawing students eager to break free from their screens and rediscover the thrill of real connection.
