Director Statement

Heartbeat (Detak) is our personal mission to introduce one of Indonesian under-represented traditional dance, Tari Lengger (Lengger Dance).

The filming took place in Banyumas area, where Tari Lengger was originated from. We built sets and marketplace in the village located at the foot of Mount Selamat and collaborated with locals.

We hope that our film will bring positive impact to society, and through Detak, we hope that the young generation of Lengger dancers will be inspired to preserve Lengger Dance.
