DESTINATION

My short film , "DESTINATION" which revolves around the character of a girl named "Akangsha" is one of my most recent short film which was based on a topic that I think should be highlighted in today's world. As a parent or a mentor , we as human beings have started to take up a very ambitious take on our younger generations. Everyday we see thousands of students competing for seats as well as top ranks for various prestigious universities or degrees. However in this competitive life ,we often tend to ignore the wishes of our children and what they want to do with their life instead of what we want them to do . Akangsha's life isn't any different either , with both her parents being busy in their respective fields while her mother being a doctor , she too was pushed into the crowd of direction less young minds trying to make their way into making their parents happy , which was becoming a doctor. In the midst of all of this , we see what happens to her , her life and mental health. The film tries to showcase just how frustrated and miserable a child may become when they are forced to do something they are not wanting to do. I wanted to raise awareness about how zero understanding and lack of mutual communication between a child and it's parents can lead to devastating effects on the child mentally. I'm hopeful that this film will have a lasting effect on any adult that comes across it so no child in the near future has to deal with something they don't want to , because often times paths like this lead to an outcome which leaves both party broken and destroyed .
