Director Statement

Our short film, 'Demons', delves into the complex and often
dangerous world of anarchistic revolution, set against the
backdrop of a seemingly peaceful middle-class Australian
suburb. The story follows a group of young, passionate activists
as they plan and execute a bold political action, only to have
their efforts take a tragic and unexpected turn.

One of the central themes of the film is the blurred line between
idealism and extremism, as the characters grapple with the
morality of their actions and the consequences of their choices.
The film also explores the emotional toll of political
radicalisation and the human cost of revolution.

The film is shot in a realistic and naturalistic style, to give a
sense of authenticity to the story and to allow the audience to
connect with the characters on a deeper level. We have also
used a thought-provoking narrative to encourage discussions
about the issues that the film raises.

We hope that 'Suburban Revolution' will spark conversation and debate about the nature of political extremism and the cost of revolutionary action. This film is not about glorifying or condoning violence, but about exploring the complex motivations and emotions of those who choose to take extreme action in the pursuit of change
