DECODING SHANKAR

Deepti is a Law graduate with MBA, who started her career into entertainment industry; acting in movies opposite Malayalam Superstar Mohanlal. She was a model, anchor and hosting shows on television.

Later she worked as the Associate Director for the Miss World Pageant for the Amitabh Bachchan Corporation Ltd. and moved on to working behind the camera into Production Department.

In the role of Production Designer she has handled feature films from the family stable and done documentaries for National Geographic Channel, Al Jazeera, Public Service Broadcasting Trust etc. She also handled non-features for the Government of India projects. Worked with various television channels in India.

She worked as Channel Head for the largest channel in India the Sun TV Network. She was instrumental in successful launch of Zee in Kerala as Business Head of the channel; subsequently she was elevated as the Commissioning Head of channel handling content.

As an independent filmmaker she made content for PSBT, Govt. agencies, Channels, Digital agencies etc.

Her documentary on the musician Shankar Mahadevan, has featured in the International Film Festival of India in the Indian Panorama section, Stuttgart International Film Festival, Jecheon International music and film festival, Madrid International Film Festival to name a few and it continues to travel to various International Film Festivals across the world.

A passionate worker with a sense of humour and people management skills. She has a knack of finding solutions to every problem & motivating her team; inspiring them by raising aspiration, ambition, confidence to think different & to stand class apart in whatever one does to achieve the zenith of success. Sky is the limit for Deepti. Nothing can stop her from achieving her burning desire to live up to her motto of "Second to None”.

She is married to the acclaimed filmmaker Sanjeev Sivan belonging to the distinguished family of filmmakers- The Sivans; who are well known internationally and domestically for their meaningful cinemas; which have earned them international and national awards for their films and contribution to the film industry.

Deepti is fluent in English, South Indian languages and Hindi. She is self-driven, go-getter who relishes opportunities to make the impossible possible, by motivating her team with zeal, passion and spirit. She believes in the "Just Do It" philosophy, and trusts that where there is a will there is always a way.
