Patience is everything
DC Lessoway: DC, a Metis from Northern Alberta, boasts over 30 years of experience in administration, having served as a leader in First Nation governance and as a manager in an Indigenous nonprofit organization. His passion for filmmaking ignited in 1996 when he wrote a script and shot his first short film in a single day. Since then, he has been refining his skills in writing, directing, and editing. To date, DC has produced, written, directed, and edited eight short films and six music videos. His most recent short, “This Island,” received multiple nominations and won several awards at festivals worldwide. He has written numerous screenplays for short and feature-length films and television series, published two poetry books, performed for five years with a comedy improv troupe, hosted an actor's drop-in, and served as a director and judge at a film festival in the UK.
