The Silk Scarf (International Title)
Short Synopsis (English)
Three women move through empty pandemic-era streets in Paris and Toulouse, carrying an apocalyptic cloth. Their silent presence becomes protest—an embodied, feminine reclaiming of space through grace, visibility, and poetic resistance.
As modern flâneuses, they reclaim visibility, reoccupy the city. Their silence is loud, their movement an act of self-empowerment, a manifesto against patriarchal structures. Who is seen? Who claims space? A quiet yet powerful call to reclaim public space—for themselves, for each other, for a new way of being together.

Biography (English)
Christin Berg is a Berlin- and Paris-based filmmaker and co-founder of the independent production company FIRE ON AIR. Born in East Germany in 1982, she studied set design at
the University of Applied Art Hanover and experimental film under the scottish video artist Douglas Gordon at the Städelschule in Germany as well as Slade, UCL LONDON. Her work blends documentary, performance, and poetic imagery, often using urban and natural spaces as narrative tools. She has exhibited internationally and is a frequent participant in international artist residencies, including Cité internationale des arts in Paris, Villa Massimo, and programs from Goethe Institut.
Her films explore space, memory, and feminist resistance. Through FIRE ON AIR, she collaborates closely with the cinematographer Jakob Stark.
For me, every film begins with a deep sense of connection to a theme and the desire to uncover its essence. It’s almost a detective-like process—an investigation that starts with notes, visual fragments, and intuitive first impressions. Filmmaking is, to me, the most fascinating and intimate fusion of all artistic disciplines. It allows me to explore, question, and create worlds where thought and emotion meet in image and sound.
