Maciej Segiet is a graduate of the Łódź Film School. Active in filmmaking since 2009, he has directed and produced dozens of short narrative and documentary films. He is currently working on two new documentary projects, including a feature-length documentary.
The film DAMMIT was born from the combination of an idea for an opening scene and a desire to tell a story about the transition into true adulthood. Finishing university, starting a professional career, entering serious relationships, and longing for the carefree days of the past — these are shared experiences for people in their mid-20s. During the difficult moments of that period in my own life, I often found myself singing the chorus of Blink-182’s song Dammit: “Well, I guess this is growing up” — and that’s where the title comes from. I firmly believe that the most meaningful things are best communicated with a touch of humor, which is reflected in the tone of the film.
