Experiencing Interruptions?

D-DAY NORMANDIE 1944 - 2019

"Those who do not know the past cannot understand the present and cannot shape the future." Helmut Kohl

With this motto, the young filmmaker Yannik Schlingmann (Yannik Schlingmann) made his way to Normandy in France. A documentary was created there in June of 2019, during the celebrations to mark the 75th anniversary of the Allied invasion, which attempts to bridge the gap between the events of 1944 and the present.
Schlingmann captured impressive pictures and interesting people in his film.
He is expressing the joy of the liberation of Europe on the one hand and the efforts to reconcile the peoples on the other.
But he also critically questions how far you can go to remember what happened ...!?
