Christina Christie was born in Fayetteville, North Carolina. After spending much of her early life in Tampa, Florida, she went on to acquire her B.F.A in Character Animation at Orlando's University of Central Florida.
There she directed her first short film, "Tiffany", which went on to win several film festivals worldwide. After recieving her M.F.A. in Animation & Visual Effects, she went on to become a lecturer for the Character Animation program at the University of Central Florida where she balances teaching alongside the production of her next short, "Bubbles".
Cycles is a love letter to the medium of animation, short-form film, and growing up. This film was made during a transitional period in my life where I was moving past the achy stage of "young adult", and I finally had the awareness to see my journey towards independence from my parent's eyes. In making Cycles, I wanted to focus on both sides of the titular 'coming-of-age' story to offer a more in-depth and empathetic look at how parents feel when their children finally leave the nest.
