Jakey Lutsko was born in 2000 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. From a young age, Jakey developed a passion for watching old kaiju films, which eventually evolved into an obsession with the horror genre. During his teenage years, Jakey would spend his weekends in the woods filming low-quality horror shorts with his friends. Once he graduated high school, Jakey went on to Lee University to major in their cinema program. Jakey just finished his newest short, "Cycles", and has other projects currently moving into pre-production. Jakey is set to graduate from Lee University in July 2022.
"Cycles" was a very therapeutic film for me to make. Throughout the pandemic, my mental health spiraled as I dealt with isolation and other issues. The height of my depression and anxiety during this time felt like a constant cycle of suffering. I found myself writing "Cycles" as a way to cope and process what I had gone through.
