The Crown London Indie Fest showcases independent films from across the globe in the heart of the City of London, and if you are a director, you can screen your movie and get audience feedback. You can also meet other filmmakers and industry professionals, because this is a great opportunity to network and learn from others. The Crown London Indie Fest is dedicated to promoting and supporting independent filmmakers, therefore we award prizes for best works submitted.

For directors

If you're a director, that's awesome! You'll be able to screen your film at the festival, receive feedback from an audience, network with other directors and industry, and possibly, you'll meet your next collaborator or producer. It's like a community of people who are in it together, all looking to help one another, because they are all working towards a common goal, thus creating a supportive environment.

Best Short Film: For films under 40 minutes with creative storytelling.
Best Documentary: All are accepted, informative, engaging, philosophical.
Best Screenplay: Recognizing excellence in scriptwriting, dialogue, structure, originality and idea.
Best Cinematography: Best visual that enhances the film's impact
Best Concept Award: We enjoy visionary ideas that push cinematic boundaries.
Best Sound or Original Score: Honoring outstanding sound design or music composition.

Crown Jewel Award:
Best Feature Film, and this award is awarded to the best film overall.

Royal Visionary Award:
Best Directorial Achievement, which is awarded to the best visionary of 2025.

Emerging Monarch Award:
Best First-Time Filmmaker, only for new directors presenting their debut.

1. Original Work: Submissions must be the filmmaker’s original work, and filmmakers must secure all rights to music, footage, and intellectual property used in the film.
2. Release Year: The film must have been completed within the specified eligibility window (e.g., within the last 18 months) to ensure recent and relevant submissions.
3. Premiere Status: If required by the festival, the film should not have been screened publicly or widely released online prior to submission.
4. Language and Subtitles: Films in languages other than English must include English subtitles (or vice versa) to ensure comprehension by the judging panel.
5. Duration Restrictions: Films must adhere to category-specific run times (e.g., Short Films under 40 minutes; Feature Films over 40 minutes) to be judged fairly against similar works.
6. Submission Format: All films must be submitted in high-quality digital formats (e.g., DCP or HD files) following festival guidelines to preserve audiovisual integrity.
7. Technical Standards: Filmmakers must verify that submitted files play correctly without compatibility issues, avoiding encoding or resolution problems.
8. Entry Fees: If an entry fee applies, filmmakers must submit payment by the deadline to have their film considered in the festival lineup.
9. No Hate Content: Submissions must not contain hateful propaganda, gratuitous violence, or content that violates legal or ethical standards.
10. Filmmaker Acknowledgment: By submitting, filmmakers grant the festival the non-exclusive right to screen their film during the event and use promotional stills or clips for marketing purposes.
