Cristiana Bontemps is a diver and traveler, creator of short films and documentaries about nature and wildlife. Her goal is to raise awareness about the need to protect nature and animal species.
She began her career as a filmmaker in 2008 with the underwater film Tiny Wonders of North Sulawesi, which was awarded at the prestigious Antibes World Festival of Underwater Images. Several other films about the underwater world followed:
• Rendez-vous at Gladden Split (2009)
• Harry the Hairy (2012)
• The Enchanting World of Corals (2013)
• Giants of Cenderawasih (2014)
In 2014, Cristiana discovered the Arctic. Captivated by this endangered world, she dedicated several years to exploring it. From 2014 to 2019, she conducted more than ten expeditions, bringing back hundreds of hours of footage that testify to the urgency of preserving this magnificent and fragile environment. All this work gave new meaning to her life and led to the creation of the film Arctic Encounters (2021).
In recent years, she has focused on discovering other fragile ecosystems around the world, mostly in Africa, and south America. Today, she introduces Desert of the Mists, a film about the Namib desert.
