The museum is seeking short animations and films (5 min or less) to create a unique visitor experience. The primary location it will be showcased at is Fiddler's Green Amphitheatre, which hosts major concerts throughout the summer months. Over 250,000 patrons visit the venue each concert season.

The Museum commissioned local artist, engineer and fabricator, Nick Geurts to build this unique art experience. Geurts founded Yetiweurks and has created major installations for a variety of festivals and events, including Burning Man.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
MOA (Museum of Outdoor Arts) is offering up to 10 emerging artists / filmakers / animators a $250 honorarium to be part of our new mobile, pop-up theatre (title TBD) that will tour to a variety of arts and cultural events in Colorado in 2018 and possibly nation wide in 2019+. The museum is seeking short animations and films (5 min or less) to create a unique visitor experience. Films/animations will be on a rotation basis to keep programming fresh.

The primary location it will be showcased at is Fiddler's Green Amphitheatre in Greenwood Village, CO, which hosts major concerts throughout the summer months. Over 250,000 patrons visit the venue each concert season. MOA owns Fiddler's Green Amphitheatre and has many art installations throughout the property. This installation will enchance the visitor experience, as well as afford MOA the opportunity to tour the installation to other exciting sites.

The Museum commissioned Yetiweurks, a local art, engineering and fabrication studio, to build this unique, pop-up, art experience. The principal artists of Yetiweurks are Nick Geurts and Ryan Elmendorf who have created public art works as well as many major installations for a variety of festivals and events, including Burning Man. ABOUT MOA:
Founded in 1981, the Museum of Outdoor Arts (MOA) is a forerunner in the placement of site-specific sculpture in Colorado. MOA specializes in creating environments that promote a range of sculpture, as well as performance art. Our art collection is located within various public locations throughout the Denver metro area. From commercial office parks to botanic gardens, city parks and traditional sculpture gardens; art is placed to interpret space as “a museum without walls.” Employing a combination of art, architecture, and landscape, MOA is best known for integrating these disciplines in order to create exemplary environments. Foremost, the Museum of Outdoor Arts believes in ‘making art a part of everyday life’ by integrating the arts into public spaces accessible by all.

MOA is headquartered at the Englewood Civic Center in the heart of Englewood. MOA also offers indoor galleries, studios and special events and programs.

REQUIREMENTS:

Film/Animation guidelines
-Artists should be students and/or emerging artists.
-Artists may submit up to 2 films/animations each.
-Each film/animation should not exceed 5 minutes in length.
-Each film/animation should have audio. Entries with no audio will not be considered.

VIDEO REQUIREMENTS: Only .MOV or .MP4 formats, under 100MB with a minimum resolution of 640 x 480; minimum 12 fps. (For submission only)
*If selected, you will be required to provide the highest resolution possible to MOA.

Artist Selction Process
MOA and Ivar Zeile will jury all submissions that meet the requirements.

Ivar Zeile is a visual arts curator and is the founder and creative director of Denver Digerati, a project that supports the annual Supernova Outdoor Digital Animation Festival, an event focused on the public display of digital animation at the Denver Theatre Disctrict in downtown Denver. Zeile has worked independently in film and video, including a decade on staff with the Sundance Film Festival.

Up to 10 artists will be selected and a $250 honorium will be awarded to each selected artist. Additional artists may be selected as funding allows.

Artists must reside in Colorado, USA.
The Entry Fee of $15 is non-refundable

Artist agrees to allow MOA to use winning film/animation, in part or whole, at pop-up theatre events and on other platforms to promote the theatre, such as social media, newsletter, website, and other forms of promotion or advertising.

MOA will provide artists with an exhibition contract agreement upon selection of winning entries.
